Ask, Listen, Act – promoting coproduction across our service

3 August 2022

On 12th July 2022 we held a joint conference promoting coproduction at The Pavilion Centre in Wadebridge. The event was facilitated by our 3 local partnership boards: Safer Cornwall, Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Safeguarding Adults Board (CIoS SAB) and Our Safeguarding Children Partnership (OSCP).

The focus of the event was coproduction and working collaboratively with partners and individuals who access our services to inform our work going forward. We aim to ensure those involved with our services can input their views and have their voices heard and reflected in all elements of service design from planning to commissioning and evaluation.

The day was made up of a range of activities including research and evidence around the benefit of coproduction delivered by Dr Trish Hafford-Letchfield & Dr Beth Bareham, videos and talks from service users, a range of interactive workshops and a theatre production by people with lived experience.

During the lunch break there was also an opportunity to talk directly with service users in our Conversation Station and interact with various organisations who had stalls at the event.

Throughout the day we also had InkyThinking attending to capture a visual representation of the event and interactions.

Feedback from the event has been really positive and all attendees were asked to make a pledge regarding coproduction within their own work/organisation. Attendees will then be contacted in a few months time by the Experts by Experience employed in the Complex Needs Team for an update on their pledge.

The whole event was filmed by Chaos Group and the recording will be available very soon.
