It is National Co-production week from 4th July to 9th July 2022 and we have been sharing the benefits of Co-production and how to promote it in all services by holding a series of Co-production and Collaboration workshops throughout the County.
Co-production is about working in partnership with service users, experts by experience, providers, stakeholders and the community to design services that work for the people using them. This gives services users and the community the opportunity to have a say in what the services they may use will look like, what they will offer and how they can benefit them the most.
The workshops were attended by colleagues from a range of including:
- CFT
- Harbour Housing
- Barnardo’s
- Eden Project
- Cornwall College
- First Light
- Bosence Farm Ltd
- Cornwall Housing
- Konnect Communities
- Cornwall Mind
- Women’s Centre
- Experts by experience
- and many more…
The workshops focussed on what is working well and what needs to improve, and attendees were asked to make a pledge related to Co-production in their workplace. Experts by Experience employed within the Complex Needs team in Safer Cornwall will follow up with colleagues in a few months’ time to see how they are honouring their pledge within their organisation.
Some pledge examples are:
“Take a more holistic approach”
“Make links with more partner agencies in order to help clients”
“Involve service users in service design”
“I will focus on the needs of the individual, not the service.”
