Safer Cornwall has funding available to enable community led projects that specifically address community safety issues in Cornwall.  The fund is formed of money seized from criminal activity under the Proceeds of Crime Act* (PoCA).  This £20,000 funding will be spent on local projects that help to create safer communities across Cornwall.

Community based organisations can apply for up to £1,000 to spend on local projects that support Safer Cornwall priorities and/or Safer Town delivery plans and meet the following criteria;

  • Prevents crime and disorder in local communities
  • Addresses specific community safety issues in the local area
  • Promotes the work of Safer Cornwall/Safer Towns
  • Contributes to raising awareness of community safety, builds resilience in local area and increased public feelings of safety
  • Encourages reporting of crime, anti-social behaviour and community safety concerns to the appropriate body

Unfortunately this funding cannot be used to support core business or existing provision and must not be used to fund CCTV for towns or security guard services .  Applications are welcome from registered not for profit groups and education providers.
