The YZUP Addaction service provides a targeted and specialist outcome focused, recovery oriented, community alcohol and drug treatment system for young people on behalf of the Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Drug and Alcohol Action Team (CIOSDAAT) partnership.

About Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Drug and Alcohol Action Team (CIoS DAAT)

The purpose of the Drug and Alcohol Action Team (DAAT) is to ensure the delivery of the national and local drug and alcohol strategies.  The national and local drug and alcohol strategies primary purpose is to reduce the harm that illegal drug use and alcohol misuse causes individuals, families and communities.  The DAAT staff work with partner agencies, including those from social care, health and criminal justice services to:

  • commission a range of services for individuals and families, including advice and information, counselling and prescribed treatments;
  • co-ordinate activity so that organisations work closely and co-operatively;
  • provide information to individuals, organisations and communities.

Our Vision

To continue to develop and deliver a drug and alcohol treatment system that:

  1. is simple for people to access;
  2. allows people to navigate a clear range of pathways, options and choices;
  3. is delivered through co-ordinated partnership working;
  4. supports recovery and positive community integration at the end of the treatment journey.

The role of the DAAT is:

  • To set the strategy of the Drug and Alcohol Action Team through the preparation of plans to ensure targets and objectives are being met, including those of partner organisations.
  • To ensure DAAT performance meets targets and objectives, including those of partner organisations.
  • To approve the strategic needs assessment.
  • To approve DAAT Adult Treatment Plan, Young People’s Treatment Plan, local alcohol strategy.
  • To approve commissioning strategies for adult drug and alcohol users and young people.
  • To sign off DAAT Annual Accounts.
  • To approve other strategic documents.
  • To ensure the functions of the DAAT (as defined above) are embedded into the new public health structure
