Complex needs refers to a range of vulnerabilities that people experience such as homelessness, mental health issues and/ or drug and alcohol dependency that mean that people may require a high level of support.
The Complex Needs Team works with services and professionals to support the needs of people with complex needs, ensuring they have the best opportunities to reach their potential. This team includes a group of Experts by Experience (EBEs) who use their own lived experience to influence strategy, policy making, and achieve positive outcomes for those both delivering or accessing services.

The Kernow Recovery Community (KRC) offer recovery-focused spaces run by Experts by Experience, partner agencies and volunteers. The KRC provides a safe, judgement-free space, and activities and signposting available to everyone.
Anyone can receive free support for drug and alcohol issues, mental health, homelessness, domestic abuse and sexual violence as well as signposting to other support services. No referral is needed.
We know that people who experience multiple disadvantages are more likely to achieve positive outcomes when treated with empathy and understanding.
Safer Cornwall is working towards this in partnership with the Trauma Informed Network Cornwall to help spread compassion and create a better understanding of those that have experienced trauma.
