Safer Summer Plan launched for 2026

23 June 2026

Safer Cornwall has launched its new Summer Plan for 2026. The plan sets out how services will tackle crime and anti-social behaviour and support communities during the busy summer months.

In Cornwall we know that we see 17% more crimes and a third more anti-social behaviour during the summer months. Safer Cornwall, in partnership with the police and other agencies will be providing extra support in the places that need it most including coastal hotspots and beaches.

This includes high visibility street marshal patrols through Penzance, Camborne, St Austell, Truro, Newquay and Bodmin. This highlights the importance of having a visible presence to deter ASB and provide public reassurance. There will also be a Police and partner presence at some of the larger events and on public transport and in holiday parks.

Support will be provided to divert young people away from crime and ASB. This includes targeted efforts where young people are known to gather. There will also be several youth events at centres across Cornwall including the Time2Move programme.

The Safer Summer Plan will run until the end of September. It includes a wide range of initiatives that balance enforcement with support to create long-term changes. The aim is to support town centres and coastal areas to be vibrant places where people want to live, work and visit.
