Safer Towns Safer Towns aim to improve community safety and reduce crime and anti-social behaviour by providing intensive partnership support for the ten towns with the highest levels of crime and disorder, delivering strong local action plans that respond to the needs and voices of the whole community.

The Safer Town partnerships bring together partners, specialist services, local businesses and voluntary sector organisations to work with communities to develop sustainable solutions.

Safer Cornwall launches our 2025 Safer Summer Plan

Our Safer Summer Plan will be delivered alongside and complement Devon and Cornwall’s Summer Policing Plan. The plan  sets out our stepped-up support over the busy summer period, focusing on anti-social behaviour, retail crime and violence. It runs from 30 June to 30 September.

Developed with Safer Cornwall partners, it focuses on the 10 areas in the Safer Towns Programme and coastal areas that experience more anti-social behaviour in the summer months. Examples are Bude, Looe, Polzeath, Hayle and St Ives.

As part of this, the Serious Violence Prevention Programme is funding extra youth outreach in the Truro and Bugle, Liskeard and Saltash. The funding will provide more targeted help and positive youth-led activities in areas experiencing increased anti-social behaviour.

Safer Summer Plan 2025

The Safer Town partnerships take an evidence-based approach with activity that responds to:

• Safer Town Profiles (annual)
• Cornwall Council Residents Survey (annual)
• Have Your Say Survey and events (annual)
• Adverse trends in crime and anti-social behaviour and emerging issues as they are identified.
