Kernow Community launches in Falmouth

22 May 2023

The Complex Needs Lived Experience Support Workers have been busy organising a number of roadshow type events to launch the ‘Kernow Community.’

Their starting location was Falmouth at the Dracaena Centre in March and although the team were extremely nervous, they did amazingly well, and received useful and encouraging feedback from professionals and service users that attended.

They would all like to say a huge thank you to those that came to support them and to their team for giving them this opportunity to make a difference.

They believe to overcome multiple problems people need access to a diverse range of services, treatment, and accommodation options, backed up by the expertise and strength of the organisation, dedicated to nurturing each individual and their needs with a single point of contact to facilitate this.

Their aim is to have a fully inclusive community, free for anyone who feels they need company, additional assistance and /or advice from the stresses of everyday life. They also would love to listen and help individuals who have had to tackle harder times in many forms, as they all have – being Experts by Experience.

They specifically would like to reach out to people who have never had any help or support throughout their challenging times. The team feel that with our own individual experiences they can and will be able to read between the lines and assist better, limiting re-traumatisation. A metaphorical way of holding someone’s hand whilst they are in need.

The next Kernow Community event is at Pydar House, Pydar Street, Truro TR1 1EA on the 26th of May between 10am and 3pm, lunch break with catering included.

Everyone is welcome at these events, pop in or stay the duration, if anyone would like any confidential support or more information on the upcoming events then please email [email protected]
