Residents invited to have their say on crime and anti-social behaviour

“Have your Say” Survey

8 July 2024

Cornwall residents urged to have their say on crime and antisocial behaviour in our communities

Residents across Cornwall are being asked to share their views about crime and antisocial behaviour in their area.

Community safety partnership Safer Cornwall has just launched its ‘Have Your Say’ survey which can be accessed on the Let’s Talk Cornwall website until September 1 this year.

Safer Cornwall is a partnership of organisations working together to make sure that Cornwall’s communities feel safe and are safe for everyone that lives, works and visits here.

Information from the survey will help partners understand which issues are having the greatest impact in communities and how the Community Safety Partnership Plan can be drawn up to tackle them.

The survey is carried out annually so it also shows how local issues change from one year to the next. Results of previous surveys can be found on the website.

Simon Mould, chair of Safer Cornwall, said:

As chair of Safer Cornwall, I know that the views of residents are vital in shaping our efforts to prevent and reduce crime and anti-social behaviour, tackle problem use of drugs and alcohol and reduce re-offending.

By telling us what is happening in your local area and what you think we can do about it, we can work out the best solutions together to ensure that Cornwall is a safe place for all.

Cllr Carol Mould, cabinet member for neighbourhoods at Cornwall Council, said:

The survey only takes about 10 minutes and the more people who complete it, the more comprehensive our understanding will be of the key issues facing our communities and how to tackle them.

It is one of the council’s priorities to create and maintain vibrant, safe, and supportive communities where people help each other to live well and this survey will help arm us with the knowledge to achieve this.

The online Safer Cornwall Have Your Say survey is completely anonymous and takes 10-15 minutes to complete.

The survey will be open until 01st September 2024.

Safer Cornwall attend events around the County, details of the events can be found on Safer Cornwall website, Safer Cornwall Facebook and Safer Cornwall Twitter.
